one last photo

I completed the shooting for the USBC photos today.

I feel so fortunate to have had the opportunity to work with such wonderful mothers.

Here is another of my favorites.

Enjoy.

time well spent

I have completed three of four days of working on a project for the U.S. Breastfeeding Committee.

there are so many images that I want to share,
but I feel as if showing photos that identify the participants in some way violates their privacy.

even though I have signed consents.
and the photos are "my property."

so here are a few that are unidentifiable:

mother and 4 week old baby

8 months pregnant: discussing why they have decided to breastfeed

I am so excited about this project.

it brings together two of my passions.

but mostly, it is the purpose of the use of these photos that is most exciting:

they will be used by the CDC to help people across the U.S. to

view breastfeeding as normal.

poor third kid

so, this is what he thought about taking his 18 month pictures

(..... 14 months too late)

at least I got around to them eventually.

the city of new orleans

why I love this city
reason #487

gosh, I love this place...

and that is a good thing because the park trip started out as a trip to Hansens for a sno-ball
on their last day open for the year.

but it seems we were a day late.
better luck next year :(

then we tried Plum Street.
who would have thought that sno-ball stands close on Labor Day?

so option three was the port-o-sno-ball in front of Audubon Park.

not the tastiest, but you sure can't beat the view.

seriously.

do your trips to the park look like this?
(itching kid and all?)

the kids enjoyed their sno-balls

even Mr. Skeptical enjoyed a few bites

then off to the playground to expend some energy

and a good time was had by all.

now, off to bed, because reason #1 is tomorrow.

!who dat!

a fancy headpiece

I searched the internet ten times over
looking for the perfect tiaras for a fancy birthday party

I found bridal ones and silver plastic ones

but nothing in between

So I called on my ultra-creative friend, Carol
who whipped up these fancy pieces which were just PERFECT
(her etsy is under construction right now, but I'll post a link when it is up and going)

Santa Claus is Coming to Town

Oh boy! It's getting to be that time again.
Yes, it seems a bit early.
but in order for your child to have one-on-one time with
the REAL Santa Claus
you must act now
because soon, you know, he'll be busy making toys
for all of the good girls and boys

So here's how it goes:
We will have Santa available on Saturday October 23 or 30 from 8:30-11:00
or Monday November 1 from 9:00-11:00
at Audubon Park near the Walnut Street pavilion.
Contact me to make an appointment for your child's visit with him.
The appointment is for a 10 minute visit where I will photograph their interactions.
Approximately 8-10 photos will available on a secure online gallery here.

Please contact me to check for available times.
(As of today, August 16 we are half full.)
A deposit of $50 for sitting fee must be paid by October 1 to reserve your spot.

post edited on September 5:
two spots  left on each October 23 and 30
five openings on November 1
and November 6 just added

Here are a few examples from last year's fun

too close for comfort

So I thought that I lost it.

G.O.N.E.

Forever.

My sweet mom has been asking for this photo for a month

and I couldn't find it anywhere.

Pictures don't just disappear.  Or do they?

Thank goodness God was watching over me because I checked the hard drive for the tenth time.

And there it was.

Now I can rest.

(and, more importantly, give my mom this photo)
